Greer contraceptive bill moves forward

MONTGOMERY — A bill from Rep. Lynn Greer, R-Rogersville, to allow small business to opt out of contraceptive coverage mandates in the federal Affordable Care Act will go to the full Senate soon.

A Senate committee voted in favor of the bill Wednesday, after an attorney said that a similar law in Missouri had been struck down last month by a federal judge because it conflicted with the federal law.
