  • "What is the first thing you do if you want to enslave a citizenry? You disown them. What is the second thing you do if you want to enslave the people? You make it illegal to own and bear arms. What is the third thing you do in order to enslave the population? You take away their right to free speech and you put them in jail if they speak out against the government. Getting awfully close, aren't we?"

  • "They're going to try to take our guns. Wake up, people, wake up now."

  • "When are the people of Muscle Shoals going to demand a change in leadership in their police department? Home invasion's up, robbery is up and recently a policeman killing a deer while on duty. It's obvious a change must happen. Not patrolling the streets, so crime is up."

  • "If we can diminish the national debt by buying a coin printed by our government, then bring it on. We aren't down yet."

  • "I agree with the letter to the editor Wednesday. Cut out all congressional pork. Adding it to all bills is nothing short of bribing fellow congressmen. And all this money given to foreign governments while ignoring our own financial situation is absurd."

  • "One reader called in that two things are going to send this nation to hell — computers and cell phones. I'd add a third thing to that. Obama."
