TUSCUMBIA - The Spring Park Farmer's Market will not operate today, due to excessive heat.

Sherry Campbell, who oversees the market, said organizers feel the 100-plus degree temperatures could cause health risks for some people. She added that outdoor temperatures also were a concern for cooking demonstrators.

She said the market would be open again next Thursday.
