Four teens charged in aluminum theft
Four teenagers have been arrested in connection with the theft of a large amount of aluminum.
Sheffield police detective Capt. Scott Wallace said 18-year-old Edward Lee Wooten, of Graham Avenue, Tuscumbia, along with three, 17-year-old Tuscumbia boys have all been charged with second-degree theft of property.
Wallace said the four teens are accused of breaking into Southern Metals on Austin Avenue in Sheffield and taking 600 pounds of aluminum from the business.
He said the theft occurred early Tuesday.
"They broke into a fenced in an area behind the business and then into a trailer where the aluminum was stored," Wallace said.
Department officials said they were picked up by Muscle Shoals police after officers saw the teens parked behind a business on Davidson Avenue in Muscle Shoals with the truck load of aluminum.

Vickie Sue Tomlin, 46, 8965 Lauderdale 189, Florence; two counts of domestic violence third-degree assault.
James Farranto Madden, 35, 2600 E. Avalon Ave., Muscle Shoals; first-degree theft of property and second-degree forgery.
Marcia Yvette Cole Abernathy, 49, 7221/2 W. Irvine St., Florence; grand jury indictment of first-degree theft of property.

Burglary: Three cartons of cigarettes were taken from a business in the 1000 block of Alabama 101 S., Rogersville.
Criminal mischief: A lock, hog trap and 50 feet of fence at a residence on Lauderdale 61, Florence, were damaged.
Theft: A boat motor was taken from a residence on Lauderdale 65, Cloverdale.
Theft: Computer and checks were taken from a business in the 2900 block of Florence Boulevard, Florence.
Burglary: A leaf blower and hedge trimmers were taken from a residence in the 300 block of Harris Drive, Florence.
Theft: A number of checks was taken from a residence in the 200 block of Lauderdale 172, Florence.
Theft: A 1999 Ford F-150 truck was taken from a business in the 2900 block of Florence Boulevard, Florence.
Theft: A white, 2005 Yamaha motorcycle was taken from a residence on Lauderdale 87, Florence.
Burglary: Two double-barreled shotguns, two 12-guage shotguns, a .357-caliber pistol, a 22-caliber rifle, two 45-caliber pistols and a .25-caliber pistol were taken from a residence in the 6900 block of Lauderdale 31, Killen.
Theft: A 1992 Nissan Maxima was taken from a residence in the 200 block of Betsy Ross Lane, Florence.
Burglary: A lockbox containing more than $2,000, a 30-30 rifle with a scope, a PlayStation2 game system and games, 100 CDs and a DVD surround sound system were taken from a residence in the 100 block of Lauderdale 357, Florence.
Theft: A bass boat was taken from a residence on Ditman Lane, Florence.
Theft: Bank statements, credit and bank cards were taken from a residence on Kerry Drive, Florence.
Burglary: A 27-inch television, stereo and clothes were taken from a residence on Lauderdale 42, Florence.
