MUSCLE SHOALS Couple charged with robbery, theft
A
Colbert County couple has been arrested after being accused of stealing a purse from a 72-year-old woman as she got out of her car, authorities said.
Muscle Shoals police said Kevin Randall Taylor, 31, 101 Hollywood Drive,
Tuscumbia, and his, 29-year-old wife, Amanda Michelle Taylor, have been charged with second-degree robbery and first-degree theft of property.
Authorities said the arrests were made in connection with an incident that reportedly took place April 27 in the parking area at her residence on
Sheffield Avenue in Muscle Shoals.
Investigators said the couple is accused of following the victim from a parking lot on Woodward Avenue to her residence on
Sheffield Street and then almost knocking her to the ground as they stole her purse.
The victim gave police a description of the vehicle and she later identified them as the ones who robbed her, police said.
They are being held in the
Colbert County Jail, with bond set at $5,750 for each.
WAYNESBORO, Tenn.Three face
drug charges
An ongoing drug investigation has resulted in the arrest of three people, officials said.
Waynesboro Police Chief Keith Reeves said the arrests were made after sells were made to undercover officials.
Reeves said those arrested were:
Gayla Andrews, 40, 111 Vaughn St., Village Apartments, Waynesboro, unlawful sale of schedule IV drugs (Xanax) within 1,000 feet of a school zone.
Damien Staggs, 27, 1212 Old U.S. 64, Waynesboro, unlawful sale of a schedule II drug
(Oxycotin).
Robert Whitehead, 38, 409 Moccasin Creek, Road, Waynesboro, unlawful sale of a schedule II drug
(methamphetamine).
Reeves said cases on all three were presented to the recent Wayne County grand jury.
ARRESTS
Florence police
Timothy Leonard Collins, 32, 1126 Bluff St., Florence; unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Damon Harvey Williford, 33, 205 N. Eclipse St., Florence; first-degree theft of property.
Lauderdale sheriff
Derrick Chase Thigpen, 19, 289 Rascal Town Road, Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; second-degree theft of property, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespassing.
Florence police
Burglary: A .38-caliber chrome-plated pistol, checkbook and small cedar box containing old coins were taken from a residence in the 400 block of Cypress Mill Road.
Burglary: More than $300 in quarters were taken from a residence in the 2000 block of Saxton Drive.
Unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle: A .38-caliber brushed-chrome pistol was taken form a 2000 white Toyota passenger van that was parked in the 300 block of Hermitage Drive.
Theft: Check book, $50 in cash, a small purple leather type purse, five credit cards/debit cards, driver’s license and multiple keys were taken from a business in the 2000 block of Florence Boulevard.
Theft: $300 was taken from a residence in the 900 block of Dixie Avenue.
Property damage: A 2007 Ford F-150 truck was damaged while parked in a parking lot at a business on Helton Drive.
