Jailed man's friends get locked up, too
Three people who had planned on bailing a friend out of jail instead got to join him after they were seen drinking alcohol in the parking lot of the jail, authorities said.
Officials with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said all three were seen by correction officers who were watching security monitors. The three were sitting in a vehicle parked at the jail drinking and when officers went to the vehicle, they found pills and marijuana as well as liquor, according to reports.
Arrested were Stephanie Britnell, 32, 1010 N.W. Limestone St., Russellville, who was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and public intoxication and Edward Lee Darby, 30, Newell Road, Phil Campbell, who was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and illegal possession of prohibited liquor.
Also arrested was April Shea Scott, 28, 100 Westside Plaza, Apartment 252, Russellville, who was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, public intoxication, illegal possession of prohibited liquor, third-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property.
Investigators said Scott was charged with burglary and theft in connection with a recent burglary.
