FLORENCE
Search continues for thieves
A search continues for three men wanted for breaking into a local convenience store.
Florence police said the men broke into the Store-N-Deli on Cedar Street the morning of Aug. 29.
Reports indicate they used a large piece of concrete to break the bottom of the glass door. The burglary occurred around 5 a.m.
The suspects were caught on surveillance video.
Detective Jerry Pearson said two of the suspects went over the counter, while a third acted as a lookout.
On the video, the thieves can be seen taking a box of Black and Mild cigars, quarters and cash that amounted to $500, along with several lottery tickets that were on the counter.
Authorities said the thieves were inside the store for less than a minute.
Pearson said two of the burglars had their faces and heads covered. He said all three had bandanas around their faces. One wore a white bandana, another wore a blue bandana and the third wore a black one with white gloves and a multi-colored hat.
All three, who are described as black men, were dressed in dark clothes. Pearson said two were wearing short pants while the third had on jeans.
