Traffic stop nets drug arrests
A Morgan County man and woman were arrested Thursday on various drug charges after a traffic stop in Lawrence County.
Thomas Kevin Free, 35, and Tammy Leann Clark, 35, both of Hartselle, were charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of prohibited liquor, said Lawrence County Sheriff Gene Mitchell.
Mitchell said the traffic stop was made by drug task force agents on Lawrence 87 near the Kitchens Mill community.
"During the traffic stop, agents found a meth lab, a half-ounce of finished methamphetamine and a bottle of tequila inside the vehicle," the sheriff said.
Free and Clark are being held in the Lawrence County Jail without bail.
TUSCUMBIA
Men face burglary charges
Colbert County authorities say two local men have been arrested in connection with two recent burglaries.
Joshua Milton Goins, 24, 745 Allen Lane, Tuscumbia, has been charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree receiving stolen property and third-degree theft of property. He said Brandon Ray Andrews, 25, 2936 Smallwood Mountain Road, Tuscumbia, has been charged with two counts of third-degree burglary.
They are accused of stealing a total of $3,000 in property from two residents in the county within the past 30 days.
Goins is being held in the Colbert County Jail on bail totaling $10,050. Authorities say more charges against him could be presented to an upcoming grand jury. In addition, there are warrants for Goins in Lauderdale and Franklin counties.
Andrews is being held in the Colbert County Jail on bail of $5,000.

Miranda L. Cochran, 34, 1915 Beechwood Drive, Florence; unlawful possession of a controlled substance and driving while under the influence.
Gary Walker Curtis, 43, 12521 Alabama 157, Florence; grand jury indictments for two counts of first-degree theft of property and two counts of home repair fraud.
Arveia Odell Thompson, 43, 1018 Spring St., Florence; second-degree theft of property and second-degree forgery.
Rebecca Leigh Balentine, 37, 204 Pamplin Ave., Florence; grand jury indictment for chemical endangerment of a child.
William Harold Murphy, 45, 312 Mackey St., Rogersville; grand jury indictments for two counts of first-degree theft of property and two counts of home repair fraud.
Lauderdale County sheriff
David Glenn Vinson, 35, 722 Little Israel Road, Tuscumbia; third-degree burglary, third-degree theft of property and receiving stolen property.
Marcus Darnell Allen, 27, Cypress Mill Road, Florence; alias warrant for second-degree theft of property.

Florence police
Theft: Two men’s jackets were taken from a business in the 400 block of North Court Street.
Burglary: A prescription pad, prescription drugs and $150 in cash were taken from a business in the 1100 block of Bradshaw Drive. A metal door and file cabinet were damaged.
Theft: A 1984 Chevrolet Corvette and a 1965 Cobra Mustang were taken from the 1200 block of Sorrento Road.
Criminal mischief: A brick retaining wall was damaged in the 3000 block of Cole Avenue.
Criminal mischief: A storm door and the front of a residence were damaged in the 400 block of North Crown Street.
Criminal mischief: A 2002 gold Lexus ES300 was damaged while parked in the 200 block of West Dr. Hicks Boulevard.
Burglary: A television, laptop computer, camera and accessories, and two 12-foot definition cables were taken from a residence in the 1700 block of Sherrod Avenue.
Theft: A wallet containing a debit card and driver’s license was taken from a residence in the 1500 block of North Wood Avenue.
Theft: A 2008 blue Nissan Quest was taken from a residence in the 500 block of Elder Street.
Theft: Seven credit cards, checkbook, wallet and personal information were taken from a business in the 300 block of Cox Creek Parkway.
Lauderdale County sheriff
Theft: A stove, refrigerator, trash compactor, marble flooring, electrical wiring and four central air conditioning units were taken from a residence in the 3000 block of Sky Park Road, Florence. Mirror walls and ceilings were damaged at the residence.
