FRANKLIN COUNTY

Armed robbery suspect sought

Police were searching Saturday night for a person of interest connected with the armed robbery of a service station/convenience store in Franklin County earlier in the day.

Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said a man entered the Parade Station on U.S. 43 near the Colbert County line just after 4 p.m. Saturday armed with a knife and demanded money from the cashier. The cashier gave him an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, and the man fled in a 1998 silver Pontiac Bonneville. The cashier said he appeared to be alone but she did not know his direction of travel.

Plott identified the person of interest as Jody Allen, and described him as a white male, 6 feet tall, 300 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. "Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Jody Allen is urged to contact any law enforcement agency," Plott said.
