Tuscumbia rolls to 20-5 victory in Farm League

Tuscumbia had five players with three hits in rolling to a 20-5 victory over Phil Campbell in the Farm League (7-8) district tournament at Underwood.
Brantley Holden, Hayden Stutts, Ryan Kelley, Clayton Terry and Jeremy Johnson all had three hits in the win for Tuscumbia. Holden, Terry and Johnson all hit a home run.
Tuscumbia will play Monday at 6 p.m.
- Rogersville 8, Winfield 3: Wyatt Newton had three hits and Hunter Patterson added a three-run double to spark Rogersville past Winfield at the Farm League district tournament.
Rogersville will play Monday at 8 p.m. in a winner's bracket game at Underwood.
- Underwood National 18, Sulligent 8: Landon English went 2-for-4 with two triples and four RBIs for Underwood National, and five of his teammates finished with three hits.
Bronson Givens, Matt McCluskey, Preston Hardin (three RBIs), Jackson McCreless and Calen Chaney each had three hits for Underwood National in the district second-round win.
Underwood National, which recovered from a 15-8 loss to Moulton on Friday, will play Caddo on Monday at 6 p.m.
- Underwood American 16, Brooks 12: Jacob Blasingame and Kareem Thompson each went 3-for-3 to lead Underwood American.
Brycen Parrish and William Conrad add two hits apiece.
Dusty Quillen, Jacob Hall and Brett Urban each had two hits for Brooks
Underwood American, which remained undefeated in tournament play with its sixth straight win, will face Lauderdale County on Monday.
Northwest-Shoals Showcase
- Florence Nitro clinch tournament title: With a pair of wins, the Florence Nitro sealed a tournament title at the round-robin Northwest-Shoals Showcase.
In its opener, the Nitro won 5-1 against the Birmingham Rays behind a two-hitter from Jordan West, who struck out nine in six innings.
Drew Humphrey drove in two runs and Jared Mothershed added another run-scoring single.
Humphrey added two RBIs in a 14-0 win against Central Alabama in five innings.
Rusty Todd and Ross Parker had two hits, Mothershed hit a two-run triple and Brent Bradford and Zach Summy had two RBIs apiece.
Scott Trousdale got the win.
The Nitro still will play against the Birmingham Rays today.
Dixie O-Zone (11-12)
- Central 15, Tuscumbia 3: Central's Caleb McDonald had three hits, including
a home run and five RBIs in a victory over Tuscumbia in the Dixie O-Zone sub-district tournament at Cherokee.
Kaleb Whitten also had three hits for Central, while Chandler Patterson, Koby Gean and Shaler Grigsby all added two hits apiece.
Clent McCleary had two hits and two RBIs for Tuscumbia. Lane Dickerson earned the complete-game win for Central, which will play Cherokee on Monday at 8 p.m.
Dixie Majors (Late Friday)
- Central 11, Florence 5: Mikie Stanfield and Chisholm Atkinson had three hits apiece to lead Central past Florence.
Nick Brewer and Cody Risner added two hits each for Central. Zach Tverberg led Florence with two hits.
Atkinson recorded seven strikeouts in six innings to earn the win for Central. Joe Creasy worked the final inning. Hayden Woodruff struck out five in five innings in taking the loss for Florence.
