Local casting call for new movie

Independent filmmaker Tonya S. Holly, of Cypress Moon Studios, will conduct a talent search in several Southern cities for her new film, "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde."

One casting call will take place in Sheffield from 3-6 p.m. Aug. 31 at Cypress Moon Studios office, 1000 Alabama Ave.

Interested people should be 10 or older and should bring resumes that include contact details and a photo.

Other casting calls will take place Friday in Philadelphia, Miss., Saturday in Natchez, Miss., Sunday in Alexandria, La., and Tuesday in Jackson, La.

If you can't attend a casting call, resumes and photos can be mailed to Cypress Moon Studios, attn: The Story of Bonnie and Clyde Casting, 1000 Alabama Ave., Sheffield, AL 35660.

The film stars Hilary Duff, Kevin Zegers, Thora Birch, Taryn Manning, Rance Howard, Michael Madsen and Cloris Leachman, among others.

Board approves bus purchase

The Muscle Shoals Board of Education approved bids Tuesday for the addition of two buses to the district's fleet.

The low bid was from Transportation South for $75,561.67 each bus, for a total of $151.123.

Superintendent Jeff Wooten said the money to make the purchase comes from the fleet renewal budget.

The 72-passenger buses are expected to be delivered within 30 days and should be in use before the second away game for the Muscle Shoals High School football team.

Also at Tuesday's called meeting, Dewanna Jarrell, who had been laid off by the system in July, will return for employment at the Muscle Shoals Middle School.
