Parade safety

I am writing as a concerned citizen. Is there any way that we can put up something for the people who are standing on the sides of the street to keep them back? I was downtown watching the Friday parade and those people were letting their kids run out in front of the cars in the parade and didn't even care if they got hit or not.

They wouldn't even listen to officers. They would tell them to get back and as soon as the officers moved down the line they went right back out there. And one kid almost got hit by the big fire truck.

The parade is for us to enjoy and if people aren't going to listen they are going to take that away from us. So please put up something to keep kids and adults back. Is the candy worth someone getting hurt or dying before they will listen to stay back?
