The University of North Alabama, president, professors and the student body are something to be proud to have in north Alabama.

The community should all know about this valued asset and let them know that we are grateful that they are developing such outstanding military and civilian leaders.

One outstanding thing you can immediately see is how involved the students and fans are before a sporting event. The teams and fans stand, remove hats and put hand over their heart during the playing and singing of the national anthem. This is really a thrill to the fans and impresses the visiting teams and families.

We also have some of the best individual talented students who sing the national anthem that you will find anywhere. I am proud of this institution and I know that most of our veterans and fans are thrilled to the bone to see such patriotic displays.

One 4-year-old fan stood tall at a volleyball game and placed his hand over his heart during the singing of the national anthem. He was asked why he did this and he said it was because he loved America.
