We had a record number of entries this year for our Shoals Woman of the Year contest, which made a hard job even more difficult for our judges. There just were so many deserving people nominated for this award.

I hope you will agree with our choice, Dr. Felice Green. Dr. Green retired from the University of North Alabama in 2003, but she isn’t spending her retirement rocking on her front porch. No, she divides her time between several charitable activities and says she is busier now than when she was working.

Congratulations, Dr. Green, and congratulations to all of you who were nominated. Keep up the good work.

Enjoy!
