  • "They're repairing a guardrail on a bridge by Happy Hollow. They need to build a whole new bridge there. The one's that existing is too narrow and too dangerous. They need to build a wider and better and safer bridge."
  • "Well, the same city of Florence - that of course went over budget building golf courses - has decided now that they're going to buy a golf course and make a landfill out of it. You can't make this stuff up."
  • "Could you please tell me why our senators, whoever, is in charge of getting three miles of Wilson Dam Road paved over there ... you know they spend half a million dollars and they got $100 million bridge laying over there in Florence. Why can't they get three miles of another road paved so that people don't bottleneck. Something's going on here."
  • "I think we need to have the government to check into what these pharmacies are charging people for medication because it can't be that high. Maybe that will cut some of the cost."

If you are a nurse or a doctor cover your face if you are sick."

  • "Has anyone given any thought to the disgrace that Florence has got regarding the cemetery sitting in the woods beside the Florence Country Club? What's going to happen to it?"
  • "I'd like to say that I'm fixing to write a letter to Washington to the president to find out why he's letting a $100 million bridge lay over there in Florence and a three-mile stretch of land is a two-lane road, why he can't get something done about this. I'm fixing to write some letters and call people. I don't see what the problem is."
  • "Would some of those church-going people please call in and explain how the churches associate Halloween with a church activity - like trunk or treat and costume parties and so forth. There is absolutely nothing about Jesus or his church in a Halloween party. It's more like a devil's party. I really hope someone will call in and defend their reason for this."
