GUNTERSVILLE

Reward offered in shooting death

A $10,000 reward is being offered in the shooting death of a Sheffield man.

Marshall County sheriff’s deputy Heath Thomas said private businessmen have posted the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the shooting death of Ricky Allen Moody.

Moody, 58, of Sheffield, was found inside Motors and Cash Title Pawn on Alabama 431 in Claysville, which is north of Guntersville. He was found just before noon Oct. 23.

Deputies said a truck driver who had stopped at the business found the body and called 911.

Thomas said the shooting took place between 7 a.m. and noon.

Moody was pronounced dead at the scene by Marshall County Coroner Marlon Killion.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case. No motive has been determined in the shooting.

Thomas said anyone with any information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (256) 582-2034.
