FLORENCE

Habitat workers to 'trick or treat'

The University of North Alabama's chapter for Habitat for Humanity will be trick or treating Saturday to collect funds for the program.

Beginning at 5 p.m., workers will canvass homes in the Shoals, including Florence, Sheffield and Killen, to collect change. The group has a goal to build homes in the spring in Mississippi and to go to Thailand next summer to build homes there.

UNA and Shoals Habitat have completed 58 houses.

The group will meet at 5 p.m. behind the Guillot University Center on campus. For details, call Hitomi Nishino at (256) 394-5189.

MUSCLE SHOALS

Athletic boosters set Pancake Day

Pancake Day, sponsored by the Muscle Shoals Athletic Booster Club, will be from 6 a.m. to noon Nov. 14 in the high school cafeteria.

Tickets are $5. Dine in or carry-outs are available. Call 627-0894 for deliveries.

Proceeds benefit Muscle Schools school athletics.

The fundraiser was previously scheduled for Nov. 7.
