Thomas "Tommy" Hendon Curry, age 63, of Sheffield, Ala., died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009. The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Bedsole will officiate.
Mr. Curry was a native of Sheffield and a member of First United Methodist Church, of Sheffield. In 1998, he retired after 28 years of service to the Alabama Department of Revenue as a sales tax examiner. Mr. Curry enjoyed coaching Sheffield youth sports for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. Curry Jr. and Mary Lee Curry, and sister, Mary Ginny Alldredge.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Marilyn Weddington Curry; brother, Johnny Curry, of Sheffield; and aunt, Virginia Hale, of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Mike Johnson, Tony Carter, Roy Thompson, Hootie Crittenden, Chuck Beard and Frank Donsbach.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, of Sheffield, Shoals P.A.W.S. or the Sheffield High School Track Program.
Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
