Helen Mae Mitchell, age 80, of Tuscumbia, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel, with Doris Chaney officiating. Burial will follow in Guy Cemetery.
Mrs. Mitchell was a Colbert County native and a member of Valdosta Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her children, Thomas Mitchell and Patricia Ann Briley.
She is survived by her son, Donald Mitchell; daughter, Elaine Briley; brothers, Homer and Alvin Black; sisters, Beatrice Pardue and Shirley Owens; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Morrison Funeral Home, of Tuscumbia, is directing.
