MOBILE, Ala. - Authorities say a twice-convicted sex offender was arrested just a few blocks from the Mobile home of a woman he assaulted five years ago.
Authorities say 44-year-old Leon Anthony Davis Jackson was supposed to be living in a Morgan County motel. Mobile police spokesman Officer Christopher Levy said Morgan County authorities contacted Mobile police Friday to say he might be in the area.
The Press-Register reports that Jackson has been charged with failing to register as a sex offender in Mobile County and will face similar charges in Morgan County.
Online court records show Jackson has four felony convictions, including a 2004 home-invasion in which he assaulted a 25-year-old woman.
The sex offender registry shows Jackson was released from jail in March.
