  • "I was wondering. About a month ago your newspaper reported to the people here in Lauderdale County that we were going to have TV competition soon here. Instead of just Comcast, we'd have another. I was wondering when that was going to happen."
  • "Florence does have a television station. It's out on Cypress Mill Road, except the new owners have chosen not to cater to the local audience, but try for the Huntsville audience instead of what the original owners that started the station decided to do. They were catering to the local audience."
  • "The person who called and asked if there was a law about the black smoke exhaust, no there isn't a law against that in Alabama. But in Florence, it's against the law for me to puff out a small puff of smoke from my cigarette. Isn't that sad?"
  • "Well, I'd just like to say amen to the one that said something about the smoke coming out of these big trucks. That, as well as the mess they leave behind when they're trying to go to the moon - something that's none of their business to start with - I think that's what is wrong with everybody. I was raised, my daddy smoking and my husband smoking. And I am afraid of what everybody else is putting in the clouds."
  • "If the ECM employee smokers can't kick the habit, let them smoke in their own cars."
  • "I heard on the Jay Leno show the other night that Walmart is going to be selling caskets. I wonder if that's throughout ... I thought about calling Walmart. We need to do something. Funeral expense is just not right. It's too high. People can't keep up."
  • "This is in reference to ECM allowing smoking in the park across from the hospital. That just goes to show that if the smokers cause enough of a stink, then they think the rules don't apply to them and the governing bodies will bend to whatever they want."
