Lions get top seed in Super Regional II

FLORENCE - Even after Saturday night's loss, everything fell the way the University of North Alabama anticipated Sunday afternoon when the NCAA Division II championship football pairings were released.
With a full house watching ESPN News in the Guillot University Center, the Lions received the top seed and resulting bye in the Super Regional II portion of the 24-team bracket.
The Lions will host the winner of Saturday's Arkansas Tech-Pembroke State game Nov. 21 at noon in Braly Municipal Stadium.
The other three teams in the regional include No. 2 seed Carson-Newman, No. 3 Albany State and No. 4 West Alabama.
Top seeds in the other regions were: West Liberty (Super Regional 1), Minnesota-Duluth (Super Regional 3) and Central Washington (Super Regional 4).
Winners from regions 1 and 4 would meet in one semifinal game on Dec. 5. Winners from regions 2 and 3 will meet in the other semifinals, with semifinals winners advancing to the Dec. 12 championship game.
Tickets will go on sale Monday at the UNA ticket office.
