Children can let their imagination run wild at The Children's Museum of the Shoals.

The museum is a byproduct of the creation of Deibert Park in Florence, which was made possible through the donation of the Deibert family farm during the 1990s.

The Children’s Museum of the Shoals opened in August 2001 and offers hands-on exhibits and programs geared specifically to the developmental stages and needs of children.

The museum furthers classroom education and compliments existing cultural and educational resources. Exhibits and activities encourage children to imagine, make choices and create.

There are storytelling sessions almost every day at the museum, with themes ranging to the importance of brushing your teeth to sharing.

Exhibits enable children to discover different cultures, values and occupations.
