For those with a craving of experiencing the way it used to be, Frontier Day in Florence allows you to step back in time.

Artisans wear clothing of the time and display the processes used to spin wool, carve wood, make brooms, make corn shuck dolls and work a forge. A variety of other demonstrations are also a part of the celebration. The pioneer crafts are a favorite along with dulcimer music.

While you’re there, take in the Pope’s Tavern Museum. Pope’s Tavern is one of the oldest structures in Florence. It formerly was used as a stagecoach stop, tavern and inn. It also served as a hospital for Confederate and Union troops during the Civil War.
