A jewel of the Shoals is found at Spring Park in Tuscumbia.
Spring Park is the cornerstone of a lot of history in the city and is used for a variety of celebrations and special events such as festivals and concerts.
The spring runs through the park and a lot of family-oriented activities revolve around the water. There are plenty of geese for the kids to feed and year-round trout fishing is allowed.
The spring, which supplies drinking water to Tuscumbia, is the center of another major attraction every Friday through Sunday night when the weather cooperates.
An impressive water show delights crowds who bring their lawn chairs at nightfall.
Water shoots 150 feet above the pond and is choreographed with lights and music. The water show memorializes Princess Im-Mi-Ah-Key, wife of Chickasaw Indian Chief Tuscumbia.
A waterfall is a signature attraction at Spring Park. Also for kids, a locomotive carries dozens around the park and there’s a roller coaster and carousel. You’ll also find a playground, barbecue grills, shelters, restrooms, power outlets and a lot of open space.
