Officials took the following action during Tuesday's meeting:
Colbert County Commission
- will allow the county road department to erect a 25 mph speed limit sign on Buchannon Peninsula Road.
- approved a proclamation recognizing November as Home Health Care and Hospice Month.
- approved the receipt of a $1,000 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration grant that will be used for overtime pay for the sheriff's department.
- agreed to allow Mynot Church of Christ to erect a sign on the county right of way at the intersections of White Pike and Mount Hester Road and Sutton Hill and Mount Hester roads.
- approved the resignation of Tanya Malone in the probate judges' office.
- renewed an agreement to maintain the Rose Trail public boat ramp.
- approved a request by the county engineer to rescind bids for a water department project on Little Bear Creek.
- appointed Ollie Underwood to the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments board of directors.
- approved a request to change several voting locations in Colbert County at the request of Probate Judge Tommy Crosslin.
- received a framed print of a 1969 painting of the Colbert County Courthouse from L.C. and Louise Lenz.
- received a request from a county resident to reserve some on-street parking spaces for courthouse business only.
