The Alabama Criminal Court of Appeals has upheld the murder conviction of a man who managed to elude arrest and prosecution for more than a dozen years, court officials said.
Alfred Shawn Johnson, 42, was sentenced to life in prison in March by Lauderdale County Judge Gil Self after he was convicted in the 2000 death of Keith Barnett. Johnson could be eligible for parole.
