HUNTSVILLE — A state climatologist reports that May 2013 was the 15th coolest May on record, according to data dating to 1895.

“We mentioned in the May/June 2013 Alabama Climate Report that it seemed that May was cool, as it had been all spring,” said John Christy, director of the Earth System Science Center at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. “We were right.”
