IP union tells severance deal

FLORENCE — The 800-plus union employees of International Paper's Courtland Mill have been informed what their severance packages will contain.

United Steel Workers officials said their members will receive a $2,000 up-front check, and 1½ weeks' pay for every year of employment at the plant. Health care benefits will be included in the package, but the details were not clear.
