City passes new sign ordinance
A new sign ordinance was approved Monday by the Tuscumbia City Council after months of tweaking and discussion.
The council unanimously adopted the lengthy ordinance during a called meeting, after deciding how to handle temporary signs such as political, yard sale and for sale signs.
Council members agreed to allow such signs on city rights of way in residential areas, provided it's OK'd by the person living at the residence where the sign is placed.
"This ordinance has been reviewed over and over, and I think we have found something we all can live with," Mayor Bill Shoemaker said
