The Bay Tree Council for the Performing Arts in Red Bay will present its second production of the 2011-12 season, “The Fox on the Fairway,” by Ken Ludwig. Director Mark Richardson said this production is a tribute from Ludwig to the great English farces of the 1930s and ’40s. “It’s a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers’ classics,” Richardson said. Performances continue at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Arts and Entertainment Center in Red Bay. Tickets are $8 each and can be purchased by calling 256-356-9829, 2-4 p.m., or at the center. A dinner is available for $14 extra. Guest musicians at Swampers inside the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa, Florence, tonight include: Rusty Moody, 5-7 p.m., and Barry Billings, 8-11 p.m. Other performers throughout the week include: Friday, Hope Stamps, 5-7 p.m., and Angela Hacker and James LeBlanc, 9 p.m. to midnight; Saturday, John Blumer, 9 p.m. to midnight; Monday, Tim Cannon, 5-7 p.m., and Chris Roach, 8-11 p.m.; Tuesday, Shane Wilson, 5-7 p.m., and Harvey Thompson, 8-11 p.m.; and Wednesday, Will McFarlane, 5-7 p.m., and Tim Cannon, 8-11 p.m.

The KGB takes the stage today at Good Springs Fish and More, 17901 U.S. 43 N, Russellville. On Friday, the band performs at Hardwood Family Restaurant, U.S. 72 West, Tuscumbia. Both shows are 6-8 p.m. Band members are Kerry Gilbert, Randy Kimbrough, Mitchell Curtis, Shane Goodson and Hugh Banks.

The Velcro Pygmies take the stage tonight at Somewhere Else, 1816 Darby Drive, Florence. Cover charge is $10, $5 with college ID; must be 19 to enter. Details: 256-765-9966.

A benefit show for Nick “Mate” French will be held tonight at P.J.’s, 701 Davison Ave., Muscle Shoals. Musicians will include Wayne Chaney, Travis Wammack, Jason Isbell, The Pollies, Bryan Farris and more. Performing Friday night will be Mark Anthony and Envy. On Saturday, Jukebox Jim is the guest band.

l The Travis Wammack Band takes the stage 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at Good Springs Fish and More, 17901 U.S. 43 N., Russellville. In addition to Wammack, band members include Donnie and Jan Gullett and Roger Clark.

Sandbar Shoals, 4840 Hatch Blvd., Sheffield, features live music by Mitch Mann on Friday and Lynam on Saturday. Music starts at 9 p.m.

Acoustic music at the Chilled Canvas, 102 W. Sixth St., Tuscumbia, includes performances by Mississippi Kid on Friday night and Whitney Glover on Saturday night.

Music by Chris Smith and Neon Moon is featured 6:30-10 p.m. Saturday at Rattlesnake Saloon, 1292 Mountain Mills Road, Tuscumbia. No cover charge.

Live entertainment at DP’s Classic Grille, 410 N. Montgomery Ave., Sheffield, includes: The Flannels, 9 p.m. Friday; Wendell Franks, Shane Blalock and Mitch Mann, 9 p.m. Saturday; and Shoals Songwriters night with host Maxwell Russell and featuring Tommy York, 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The Chaney Gang Band entertains 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday at Parker’s Place, 4022 U.S. 43 S., St. Joseph, Tenn.
