The University of North Alabama kicks off its theater season with “6 Characters in Search of an Author” at 7:30 p.m. today at the George S. Lindsey Theatre. Evening performances also are Friday and Saturday and Nov. 16-17. A matinee performance will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tar Tar! is the guest band Friday night at Parker’s Place, 4022 U.S. 43 S, St. Joseph, Tenn. Performing on Saturday night will be the Jackson Davis Band.
Brand X Band will perform in two locations this weekend: Friday night at PJ’s in Muscle Shoals and Saturday night at Oasis in Littleville.
Rockin’ at the Roxy, featuring
The KGB, begins at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Roxy Theatre, downtown Russellville. Guest performer will be Chris Roach. Sponsored by the Franklin County Arts and Humanities Council, proceeds from the show go to the preservation and restoration of the theater. Banjo player Sara Grey and guitarist Kieron Means will be in concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Southall-Moore annex of the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts, 217 E. Tuscaloosa St., Florence. Grey and Means both are vocalists and will perform traditional North American songs, ballads and blues. The Sunday at the Center series is free and open to the public. Seating, however, is limited.
