Travis Wammack and Band — Jan and Donnie Gullett and Roger Clark — are guest performers 5:30-7:30 p.m. today at Wayne’s Catfish Haven, Russellville. The group also performs 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wayne’s Catfish Haven II, Elgin.

Songwriters Night with host Maxwell Russell is 6-10 p.m. today at Frank’s Italian Restaurant, 500 N. Montgomery Ave., Sheffield. Featured songwriters are Scott Ward, of Gadsden, and Blues sensation SharBaby, of Birmingham.

Musical guests 3 Wheel Drive — Jim Seales, Donny Carpenter and Mitchell Curtis — perform 6:30-9:30 p.m. today at FloBama Music Hall, 311 N. Court St., Florence. Also at FloBama 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday will be Asleep by Ten, a three-piece acoustic guitar band featuring Andy Martin, Michael Davis and Derrick Gargis.

Featured bands this weekend at PJ’s, 701 Davison Ave., Muscle Shoals, will be Double Shot on Friday night and Monkee and the Spank Daddies on Saturday.

Yesterday’s Remnants will entertain guests beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday at Trojan House, 2415 Avalon Ave. in Muscle Shoals.

Rockin’ at the Roxy, featuring The KGB, is presented at 7 p.m. the second Saturday of each month at the Roxy Theatre, downtown Russellville. Special guests will be Katie and Lindsay Konig. Sponsored by the Franklin County Arts and Humanities Council, proceeds from the show go to the preservation and restoration of the theater. Ronnie McDowell and T. Graham Brown will perform for a country show at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Crockett Theatre, Lawrenceburg, Tenn. Tickets are $23 reserved and $18, general admission; and available at crocketttheatre.com or 931-762-4231.

Bands performing at Side Pockets Billiards, 1816 Darby Drive, Florence, on Saturday include SCM Electrix and Soul Sacrifice. The set begins at 10 p.m. Cover charge: $5.

The Trey Morgan Band takes the stage Saturday night at Parker’s Place, 4022 U.S. 43 S, St. Joseph, Tenn.

The internationally acclaimed Aquila Theatre returns to Norton Auditorium on the University of North Alabama campus, Florence, tonight. The traveling acting company will perform the amusing Shakespearean favorite “Taming of the Shrew,” the hilarious account of a battle of the wills between fortune-hunting Petruchio and his rebellious new wife, Katharina. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $10 for the public and $5 for UNA students. Advance tickets are available at Pegasus Records and Tapes, 612 E.
