FLORENCE — Bond has been revoked for the man charged in connection with the Monday night hit-and-run death of a 13-year-old Florence teen.
Courthouse officials said James O’Neal Wilson, 42, 1305 Sunnyside St, Florence, was out of jail on bond from a prior arrest when the traffic accident happened that killed a Central High School seventh-grader.
Records indicate Wilson was free on a $3,500 bond after being charged with public intoxication and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Wilson was arrested early Tuesday for felony leaving the scene of an accident. Authorities said additional charges will likely be filed in the case.
With his bond revoked, Wilson was retured to the Lauderdale County Detention Center where he will stay at least until his preliminary hearing is held on Dec. 10.
Wilson is accused of being the driver of a 1984 Chevrolet truck that hit Da’santo “Tae” Ingram outside the boy’s house on Hendrix Road in the Underwood community Monday night. The accident happened at 7:30 p.m.
The boy died a short time later at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence.
Florence police found the truck later that night and took Wilson into custody on Industry Street.
