ZIP CITY — Law enforcement authorities are searching for a man who walked into P&K Western Wear on Alabama 17 this morning and robbed the clerk at gunpoint.

Chief Investigator Travis Clemmons, of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, said the robbery occurred about 10:30.

“The store wasn’t opened, but the lady stopped back to check on a few things and just after she unlocked the door, the man walked in with a gun,” Clemmons said.

He said the woman was tied up, but managed to get free and call 911.

Clemmons said the suspect is described as a white male dressed in a black-hooded sweatshirt, and he had something dark covering his face.

“She said he was wearing dark gloves and was wearing tennis shoes that had some orange in them,” Clemmons said.

The man left in a black Chevrolet Blazer.

Clemmons said the victim was not injured.

Anyone knowing anything about the robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 256-760-5757 or Shoals Crime Stoppers at 256-386-8685.
