‘Collateral damage’

People are the problem, not guns and drugs and various other things to which people may become addicted.

We cherish our freedom more than preventing bad things from happening. We will not compromise any part of our liberty to save one innocent life.

Everyone, including those with unstable and wicked minds, have their own idea about why they should have guns and/or drugs unlimited.

Many laws and the best efforts of law enforcement have not thwarted America’s craving for illicit drugs. Prohibition of firearms would not work any better.

And since the dens of iniquity and debauchery and their agents have sway over what is to be valued, there will continue to be an unending list of innocent victims.

Some will be shot accidentally or deliberately. Some will be killed or maimed by drivers under the influence.

Others will be terrorized by knife- and gun-wielding bullies. Freedom can do nothing to intervene.

It can be said at the funerals of innocents, “let not your hearts be troubled, this precious person, now deceased, is just collateral damage of the things that we love the most.”
