FLORENCE — Members of the University of North Alabama Army ROTC squad took part in the annual Combat Veterans’ service Friday morning.

The event began with the cadets running from McFarland Park to UNA. The cadets then participated in a ceremony to honor combat veterans. The ceremony took place at the UNA Memorial Amphitheatre.

U.S. Army veteran Sgt. Jantzen “Jay” Frazier, of Hartselle, was honored during the program. Frazier retired from the Army in 2011 after being wounded a number of times and receiving three Purple Hearts.
