Cooler temperatures expected this week
By Dennis Sherer Staff Writer

Cooler temperatures that are expected this week will remind residents that winter is not over in northwest Alabama.

Much of this winter has seemed more like spring, with temperatures rising above normal on most days.

Today’s high temperature is expected to be in the lower 50s, with lows around 32 degrees expected tonight.

Normal high temperatures in the Shoals in early February are around 53 degrees. The normal low is around 33 degrees.

Tuesday’s high temperature is forecast to be around 58 degrees, with highs in low- to middle-50s expected the remainder of the week.

Lows are expected to be in the middle-20s to low-30s through Friday.

A cool down is expected this weekend, with highs forecast to be in the 40s Saturday and Sunday. Nighttime temperatures in the 20s are expected both days.

No rain is expected through Sunday.
