Dressed for the occasion

No wonder America is in trouble morally, financially and educationally. We are dressed for the slide into oblivion. Can we top the world in sloppy dress?

Is all this wording on tops, shirts, pullovers and other clothing a phase that goes away or a “look at me, folks” attention getter? I suppose it gets laughs from 10 percent of our population, but don’t we want more than this because of pride, self-respect and self-esteem? Also, where have the values of parents gone?

Are churches doing their part in teaching values in good dress? They could start with the Philippians letter, “Let your moderation be known to all men.” Should we go as far as billboards and sound bites via television?

Our politicians are always placing us in the leadership roles. Are they afraid to speak out on dress or any other controversial subject? We should call our government officials “The Hem Haw Sect.”
