Florence man dies in early morning accident

CHEROKEE — A Lauderdale County man was killed in a one-car accident early this morning, near the Natchez Trace Parkway, authorities said.

State troopers said Christopher Shane Poe, 27, 122 Jackson Ave., Florence, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. on North Pike, about a half-mile south of the Natchez Trace Parkway intersection.

Authorities said Poe’s car ran off the roadway and he was ejected.

The accident remains under investigation by the Quad-Cities State Troopers Post.
