RUSSELLVILLE — Authorities said a former longtime employee of a local manufacturing company has been indicted after being accused of embezzling more than $260,000 from the business.
Courthouse officials said an indictment for first-degree theft of property has been issued against James Harold Moody, 49, 215 Frederick St., Bear Creek.
The indictment was returned by the recently concluded session of the Franklin County Grand Jury.
Moody, who was arrested in August, is accused of embezzling about $266,000 from Franklin Homes, according to reports. The business produces manufactured homes.
Investigators said he took the money over a six-year period and the accusations date to at least 2006.
Authorities said Moody is accused of making checks payable to himself and not listing them in the company’s financial ledger.
