Group focuses on recruiting women

Go Build Alabama, an initiative of the Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute, is expanding its efforts to recruit women to the industry by focusing on women to its advertising and educational outreach efforts.

The institute will launch a television commercial that will air statewide and an educational video to be used in its outreach efforts in schools.

The educational video follows stories of four women who work in various aspects of the construction industry. The women share stories of how they got into the industry, what it’s like working as a woman in a male-dominated industry and advice for anyone considering construction as a career.
