The Civil Wars, consisting of John Paul White, of Florence, and Joy Williams, of Nashville, performed to a sold-out crowd Monday evening at the University of North Alabama in Florence. Opening act was Walt Aldridge. The duo and music from their debut album, “Barton Hollow,” were awarded two Grammys — Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Folk Album — earlier this year. Proceeds from the show benefit the university alumni association.
