Florence man faces additional charges

SHEFFIELD — A man arrested after he was caught coming out of a residence with a television last week has been charged with a second residential burglary, police said.

James Michael Hodge, 41, who listed 1301 Appleby Boulevard, Apt. C-8, Florence, as his residence but was living in Sheffield, is charged with third-degree burglary, Sheffield police detective Bobby McCalpin said Monday.

McCalpin said Hodge is accused of breaking into a residence in the 3000 block of 10th Avenue last week and taking jewelry and other items. He said the jewelry has been recovered.

"And he is a suspect in connection with other burglaries that took place over the last six months," McCalpin said. "So, more charges could be forthcoming."

Cash totaling $30 was taken from a 2010 black Toyota Camry SE parked in the 400 block of Cox Boulevard.

A 9 mm pistol and music CDs were taken from a 1998 Honda Accord parked in the 200 block of North Nashville Avenue.

A CD player faceplate, a GPS unit charger and audio cable were taken from a 2001 white Chevrolet Malibu parked in the 700 block of Annapolis Avenue.

Burglaries

A residence in the 1200 block of Southwest 12th Avenue was broken into but nothing was reported taken.

Gold hoop earrings and a jewelry box were taken from a residence in the 600 block of Riverbluff Drive.

A laptop computer, 42-inch television, blanket and a jar of change were taken from a residence in the 2900 block of 14th Avenue.

A residence in the 800 block of West Montgomery Avenue was broken into; cabinets, carpet, stove, gas heater, air conditioning unit and toilet were damaged but nothing was reported taken.

A laptop computer and television were taken from a residence in the 600 block of Southeast 16th Street.

A residence in the 700 block of East 15th Street was broken into but nothing was reported taken.

A computer game system game was taken from a residence in the 1300 block of Annapolis Avenue.

Criminal mischief

A mailbox in the 100 block of Meadow Hill Road was damaged.

A 2002 Nissan Maxima was damaged while parked in the 2700 block of 12th Avenue.

Four tires on a 2011 Ford Fusion were damaged while parked in the 200 block of Autumn Way.
