Ex-credit union teller charged

WAYNESBORO, Tenn. — A former teller at a Waynesboro credit union was arrested after being indicted by a grand jury on theft charges.

Authorities with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Jill Lynn Scarbrough, 30, of Hohenwald, Tenn., was arrested Friday.

TBI officials said Scarbrough was indicted on one count of theft of more than $1,000.

Scarbrough is accused of taking $9,500 while she worked as a teller at the Employee Resource Credit Union on Dexter L. Woods Memorial Boulevard in Waynesboro.

TBI officials said agents discovered Scarbrough was taking cash amounts of approximately $100 and $200 between September 2012 and December 2012. She was fired from her position and the District Attorney General Office requested a TBI investigation into the missing funds.

The FBI and Wayne County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.

Indecent exposure charged

MUSCLE SHOALS — Authorities said an 18-year-old Muscle Shoals man is charged with indecent exposure after he exposed himself to an undercover female officer.

Indecent exposure is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by a year in jail and a fine if convicted.

Police said the man, who lives in the 200 block of Lewis Street in Muscle Shoals, was arrested Thursday.

Reports indicate police received numerous complaints about a man who made purchases on the Internet from women, and when he would meet them he would be naked and gratifying himself.

Police said earlier this week, they received a call from a woman who had almost become a victim of his indecent exposure once before.

According to reports, the woman went to meet the man once before to sell him an item and he sent her a text that he was in his car naked. She left before the meeting took place.

On Thursday, Muscle Shoals police used an undercover officer to meet the man. Authorities said the meeting took place in a church parking lot off Second Street.

Police said when the undercover officer walked to the man's car to sell him a pair of shoes, he was handing the money out of the car window, but was sitting naked inside his car and gratifying himself.

Authorities said other officers were nearby and converged on the parking lot and took the man into custody.

He was later released after posting bail of $1,000.
