Local home health program recognized

FLORENCE — The Alabama home health care area that includes Lauderdale, Colbert and Franklin counties has been named one of the top in the nation by OCS HomeCare and National Research Corp., according to a release from the Alabama Department of Public Health.

OCS HomeCare is a national agency that collects and analyzes publicly available home health data. The organization uses data from Home Health Compare, the National Research Corporation and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Servics cost reports.

Area I, which also includes Marion, Walker and Winston counties, was ranked in the top 25 percent of home health agencies nationwide. The ranking was part of the HomeCare Elite program.
