Man charged with sexual abuse of girl met on Internet

RUSSELLVILLE — A local man is in jail after police said he sexually abused a girl he met through the Internet, officials said today.

Druey Doyle Gandy, 18, 180 Aycock Loop, Russellville, is charged with first-degree sexual abuse, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said this morning.

Gandy was arrested Sunday evening after the incident was supposed to have happened at the girl’s residence earlier in the afternoon, police said.

Reports indicated the victim is 16 years old.

Gandy is being held in the Russellville City Jail without bail at this time.
