MONTGOMERY — At least 75 medical marijuana supporters were outside the Alabama State House today to show their support for legalization of the drug.
Proponents and opponents were expected to speak at a House Health Committee hearing.
“There are a lot of people who feel like their voices have not been heard on this,” committee chair Rep. Jim McClendon, R-Springville, said before the hearing. “This is their chance to be heard.”
Rep. Patricia Todd, D-Birmingham, has said she will sponsor next legislative session a bill to legalize medical marijuana.
