LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. — A 26-year-old Lawrence County mother faces child neglect charges after deputies responded to her residence three times Tuesday on calls of domestic assaults and suicide threats while her son was inside the house, officials said.
Danielle McKane, 26, Mint Springs Road, which is near Ethridge, is charged with child neglect, authorities said today.
Authorities said a deputy was sent to McKane’s house three times after she complained of domestic assaults.
Reports indicate when a deputy arrived at the residence the third time, which was around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, McKane appeared to be intoxicated. Authorities said she admitted being pregnant and had taken prescription medication. Her 4-year-old son was also there.
Sheriff’s Lt. Nathan Neese said the Tennessee Department of Child Services was called in to assist and has taken custody of the child.
