RUSSELLVILLE — A man whom police said killed his estranged wife during a domestic attack Friday morning remains hospitalized but is improving from self-inflected wounds, officials said.
Angel Campos Nava 33, Franklin 48, Russellville, is in intensive care at Huntsville Hospital, police said this morning.
Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said Nava, who also goes by Angel Campos, remains under 24-hour security at the facility.
Hargett said Nava is accused of killing his estranged wife, Leslie Hope Plott, 25, Russellville.
Hargett said Plott’s body was found on the side of North Jackson Avenue near the entrance to Good Shepherd Catholic Church around 1:30 a.m. Friday.
Russellville police detective Lt. Scotty Lowery said warrants were issued this morning for murder charges against Nava.
A bond of $500,000 was set for him on Friday afternoon, once he is released from the hospital and returned to Franklin County.
